Golfers Achieve Fundraising Goal

Over the summer, philanthropic-minded golfers played in the 15th Annual Shepherd’s Hope Celebrity Golf Classic at Reunion Resort to raise money for the medical services of the uninsured. Foursomes were paired with a celebrity player, including Orlando Magic ambassador and former professional basketball player Nick Anderson, former NFL player for the New England Patriots Johnny Rembert, and other notable figures. Participants raised almost $100,000 to benefit those in need of free medical care.

Top scorers included Colorvision International with a 1st place gross win and Wyndham Vacation Ownership with a 1st place net win, A.T.A.P Companies who scored 2nd place gross and the Joan Kidd, MD, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Cup team who scored 2nd place net, Starling Automotive Group with a 3rd place gross win and Sam Steele Foursome earning 4th place gross.

“The vital success of the Celebrity Golf Classic ensures that Central Floridians in need can access Shepherd’s Hope compassionate free health care thanks, in part, to the impact of individual donors, community partners, and event supporters…” says Marni Stahlman, president and CEO of Shepherd’s Hope.

Spring is in swing, so it’s time for Jaleo Disney Springs to bring back its Gin & Tonic Festival, starting April 15, until April 28. Not only is a Gin & Tonic, with its bright and effervescent flavors, the perfect seasonal cocktail to enjoy on a beautiful Spring day, it also happens to be Spain’s national cocktail.

For two weeks, Jaleo Disney Springs guests can try a curated lineup of cocktails, featuring Appetizer, made with Fords Gin, Cynar, lavender, lemon and tonic, plus other classics the Ultimate Gin & Tonic and the Mediterranean. Available tapas pairings to accentuate the flavors the cocktails include fan-favorites like Patatas Bravas, fried potatoes with spicy tomato sauce and creamy aioli, and Pan con tomate y queso manchego, flavorful toasted slices of crispy bread brushed with fresh tomato and served with Spanish Manchego cheese.

Lake Nona Wave Hotel has just unveiled its summer pop-up experience, The Palm Club, inspired by Florida’s 1960’s golden age. Located at the heart of the hotel’s ultra-lush Sculpture Garden surrounded by 400 swaying palm trees and sculptures from one of the world’s largest private art collections, The Palm Club will launch tomorrow, April 19 for a summer-long experience featuring vintage cocktails, gourmet picnics, inspired photo moments, and more.

The pop-up takes place weekly (Friday through Sunday) and each night of the weekend will have its own dedicated programming:

Friday evenings will feature a vintage Movie’s Under the Stars – starting April 19 with the 007 classic Goldfinger and an Aston Martin photo-op.
Saturday evenings will feature Sunset Sessions with a live vocalist providing the backdrop to a romantic picnic or pre-dinner cocktail.
Sunday afternoons will feature old-fashioned cocktails and boozy popsicles to accompany an afternoon stroll among the Sculpture Garden

Gourmet picnics: To compliment these experiences, locals and guests alike can reserve picnics with Veuve Clicquot champagne, crudites, artisan cheese and charcuterie, fresh fruit, and sweet treats, as well as a cozy blanket and pillows to savor the sunset and surrounding sculpture garden.

While the Palm Club pop-up is running, the hotel will be offering the “See, Be Seen and Save at The Palm Club” deal where guests will save $20 on prevailing weekend rates through June 30, 2024.

WHAT: On Saturday, April 27, three HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals in Central Florida will partner with local law enforcement to host collection sites for the 26^th Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The initiative is organized in April and October each year by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to safely dispose of expired, unwanted and unused prescription medications. The initiative is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of opioid misuse and the importance of safe and proper disposal of unused or expired medications.

During the last National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in October 2023, more than 4,600 sites across the country collected nearly 600,000 pounds of medications and medical supplies for disposal.

Drive-through sites at three HCA Florida Healthcare facilities, staffed by law enforcement officers, will be open to the community to safely dispose of their unwanted prescription drugs.

CFAR presents “Hot Wheels 4 Cool Cats” at the 123,000 sq. ft. American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne with over 400+ cars to benefit the Central Florida Animal Reserve on April 27, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The event will include admission to the American Muscle Car Museum, complimentary drink tickets and a raffle ticket, an exhibition of an assortment of muscle cars that include more than 50 Indianapolis 500 Pace Cars & Trucks, Ford Shelby, Mustangs, Corvettes, and more.
