SeaWorld Orlando Celebrates National Roller Coaster Day With “The Ultimate Challenge”

Roller coaster fans can put their stamina and thrill-seeking skills to the test this August as SeaWorld Orlando celebrates National Roller Coaster Day with a challenge to ride all eight of the park’s coasters in a single day.

Taking place Aug. 16, “The Ultimate Challenge” invites guests to experience SeaWorld Orlando’s full lineup of coasters, from record-breaking thrills to family-friendly adventures.

Guests who take on the challenge can collect a punch for each coaster they ride. The first 1,000 guests to participate will receive a commemorative challenge lanyard and a limited-edition Mako 10th Anniversary poster, while supplies last.

The park’s eight coasters offer a range of experiences for different types of thrill seekers. Among them is Mako, which reaches speeds of up to 73 mph and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The coaster has also been recognized by USA TODAY’s 10Best Roller Coaster rankings.

Another standout is Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, billed as the world’s first surf coaster. The ride is designed to mimic the movement of surfing, giving riders a different type of coaster experience.

For families, Penguin Trek offers a more approachable coaster adventure while incorporating an Antarctic-themed storyline.

SeaWorld Orlando is also marking National Roller Coaster Day with a new limited-edition National Roller Coaster Day T-shirt featuring all eight of the park’s coasters. The collectible shirt will be available while supplies last.

Annual Pass Members will have an additional opportunity to go behind the scenes at Mako. Special tours will be offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on August 16, providing an insider look at the coaster’s design, mechanics and history.

The behind-the-scenes tours are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis at the SkyTower Tour Desk.

Pass Members can also receive a free Mako lanyard and pouch from August 16 through August 31 at Reef Treasures, while supplies last. An active Annual Pass must be presented to redeem the offer.

Guests participating in The Ultimate Challenge should check in at the table by the SeaWorld Orlando Store at the front of the park.
