A new season is coming to Winter Park’s Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, bringing new exhibitions, returning traditions and plenty of opportunities to experience the museum throughout the year.
The 2026–27 season officially begins Oct. 13, with exhibitions and programs that explore everything from the changing world of art and design to fashion, Tiffany’s enduring influence and the history of Winter Park itself.
Fall at the Morse
The season will open with Revolt in the Parlor: Escaping Victorian Taste, on view starting Oct. 13. The exhibition explores how artists and designers moved away from the ornate aesthetic of the Victorian era and began experimenting with new ideas as the 20th century took shape.
More than 250 objects will fill three galleries, spanning six decades from 1890 to 1959.
The exhibition looks at a period defined by enormous change; the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 marked the symbolic end of an era, while social and political tensions, technological advances, and growing global conflicts reshaped the world around artists.
Rather than simply following a timeline, Revolt in the Parlor considers how artists responded to that changing world through experimentation, disruption, and reinvention.
Fall at the Morse will also bring back one of Winter Park’smost anticipated holiday traditions. On Dec. 3, the Museum and the City of Winter Park will present the 48th annual Christmas in the Park in Central Park. The outdoor exhibition will feature century-old Tiffany windows, followed by a concert of holiday favorites from the Bach Festival Society Choir and Brass Ensemble.
The holiday season also includes several free-admission opportunities at the Museum. Holiday Friday Nights run Nov. 27 through Dec. 18, with admission free from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and live music from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Weekend and Christmas Eve will also feature free admission and special programming.
Spring at the Morse
When spring arrives, the Museum will turn its attention to fashion and one of Winter Park’s own historic celebrations.
Opening March 2, 2027, Party in the Garden commemorates the 100th anniversary of a garden party tea hosted by Elizabeth Morse Genius and her husband at Morse Park on Interlachen Avenue.
Drawing from the Morse costume collection, the exhibition explores fashion as an art form and considers how clothing can communicate identity, culture, and creativity.
Spring will also bring back the Museum’s popular Friday Nights. From March 5 through April 30, visitors can enjoy free admission from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday, with live music from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Museum will also participate in some of Winter Park’s biggest spring events, including Winter Park Arts Weekend, the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, and Easter Weekend, with free admission and special programming throughout each celebration.
Tiffany Remains at the Center
While the seasonal exhibitions will offer something new to discover, the Morse’s permanent collection continues to be one of its biggest draws.
The Museum is home to the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany, including the chapel he designed for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago and art and architectural elements from his Long Island estate, Laurelton Hall.
Its collection also includes late 19th- and early 20th-century painting and design, including American art pottery.
With major exhibitions arriving in both fall and spring, free Friday evenings and some of Winter Park’s most beloved annual traditions, the Morse’s 2026–27 season offers plenty of reasons to make a visit or plan a return trip.
The Morse Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Regular admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $3 for students, and free for children under 12. Admission is free for everyone from 4 to 8 p.m. on Fridays from November through April.
