CFHLA Welcomes New Executive Committee

The Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association elected its new Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the 2021 calendar year. The Board of Directors is comprised of 50 lodging executives from the tri-county area.

Spring is in swing, so it’s time for Jaleo Disney Springs to bring back its Gin & Tonic Festival, starting April 15, until April 28. Not only is a Gin & Tonic, with its bright and effervescent flavors, the perfect seasonal cocktail to enjoy on a beautiful Spring day, it also happens to be Spain’s national cocktail.

For two weeks, Jaleo Disney Springs guests can try a curated lineup of cocktails, featuring Appetizer, made with Fords Gin, Cynar, lavender, lemon and tonic, plus other classics the Ultimate Gin & Tonic and the Mediterranean. Available tapas pairings to accentuate the flavors the cocktails include fan-favorites like Patatas Bravas, fried potatoes with spicy tomato sauce and creamy aioli, and Pan con tomate y queso manchego, flavorful toasted slices of crispy bread brushed with fresh tomato and served with Spanish Manchego cheese.

In this class we will learn about the basics of fungi and how to make an oyster mushroom grow bag. The topics covered will include fungi anatomy, growth habits, and edible uses. The class will also include a hands-on portion where participants will make their own mushroom grow bags.

This class will be taught by Urban Residential Horticulture Agent, Calvin Gardner. Come join us at UF/IFAS Extension Orange County located at 6021 S. Conway Road, Orlando, FL 32812. Pre-Registration is required along with the non-refundable class fee.

CFAR presents “Hot Wheels 4 Cool Cats” at the 123,000 sq. ft. American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne with over 400+ cars to benefit the Central Florida Animal Reserve on April 27, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The event will include admission to the American Muscle Car Museum, complimentary drink tickets and a raffle ticket, an exhibition of an assortment of muscle cars that include more than 50 Indianapolis 500 Pace Cars & Trucks, Ford Shelby, Mustangs, Corvettes, and more. Plus, guests will have an opportunity to enjoy food, drinks, a “Live” auction, and entertainment. Tickets are $125 per person, VIP Tickets are $175, including an exclusive guided tour, or $225 per couple. www.musclecar.cflar.org.
