Adding to the antics in the Arctic, SeaWorld Orlando guests will glide over glaciers, take on erupting volcanoes, and get up close with wildlife on its new Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice attraction, debuting later this spring.
“Guests are in for an absolute treat with the all-new Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice,” Justin Newton, senior vice president of project delivery for United Parks & Resorts, SeaWorld’s parent company, said in a press release. “We are introducing a brand-new entry experience, a themed pre-show, and an entirely new immersive, story-driven, high-definition attraction designed to deliver a visually compelling, transportive journey and leave them awestruck.”
Stepping into an Arctic research outpost, guests will join a scientific field mission to learn more about the freezing landscapes and the animals that inhabit them. Guests will board a prototype research drone craft for their mission into the vast environment encompassing Fire and Ice through volcanoes, icebergs, rivers and mountain peaks.
Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice is designed to “blur the lines between simulation and reality” through its state-of-the-art ride system, reinforcing SeaWorld Orlando’s efforts to educate guests about the world around them.
“From the moment guests arrive at the Arctic research station to the grand reveal of the all-new mission control experience, they journey deeper into the story of two powerful forces – Fire and Ice – that shaped our planet and helped create polar life,” Newton said. “Every detail is designed to deliver a visually compelling, transportive experience, culminating in an incredible illusion that leaves guests questioning how it was even possible.”
SeaWorld Orlando will be offering Annual Pass Members exclusive early access to Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice before it opens to the general public. For more information, visit SeaWorldOrlando.com.
