Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer, and Central Florida is making the most of it. From food festivals and live music to races, car shows, nightlife and four-day celebrations, there are plenty of ways to spend the long weekend.

Whether you’re looking for something family-friendly, planning a night out with friends, or want to get moving before enjoying a long weekend brunch, here are the Labor Day weekend events to know about across Central Florida.

Labor Day 4-Day Celebration at Sunset Walk

Date: Sept. 4–7 

Location: Promenade at Sunset Walk, Kissimmee

If you’re looking for one place to spend the entire holiday weekend, Promenade at Sunset Walk is going big with a four-day Labor Day celebration.

The weekend kicks off Friday with a Jimmy Buffett Day of Service from 5–7 p.m., followed by Island Nights Live! featuring Rick Ross from 8 p.m. to midnight. Saturday brings the One Purse Charity Car & Truck Show from 2–8 p.m., with additional entertainment continuing throughout the holiday weekend.

The celebration is free to attend, although individual events and activities may have their own costs.

Labor Day Weekend at Westgate Town Center Resort

Date: Sept. 4–7

Location: Kissimmee

Turn the long weekend into a staycation with Westgate Town Center Resort’s dedicated Labor Day Weekend getaway.

The package includes three nights at the resort, a Friday welcome party with dinner, drinks, a DJ and prizes, plus a free day in Orlando on Sunday and late checkout Monday.

Flavor of Haiti Food Festival

Date: Sept. 5, Noon – 8 p.m.

Location: Luminary Green Park, Orlando

Spend Saturday celebrating Haitian culture through food, music and community at the Flavor of Haiti Food Festival.

Running from noon to 8 p.m., the festival will feature Haitian food vendors, live music, culinary experiences and more. Organizers say the event will bring together more than 40 vendors and celebrate the flavors and traditions of Haiti.

Fins & Flights Labor Day Weekend Beer Festival

Date: September 4–5 

Location: SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium

For a more grown-up Labor Day weekend outing, head underwater for an adults-only evening at SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium.

Fins & Flights runs September 3–5, with the Friday and Saturday dates falling over Labor Day weekend. From 7–10 p.m., guests can explore the aquarium after hours while sampling Florida craft beers.

The event is for guests 21 and older and includes five craft beer samples and a commemorative tasting glass.

One Purse Charity Car & Truck Show

Date: Sept. 5

Location: Promenade at Sunset Walk, Kissimmee

Car lovers can add some horsepower to their holiday weekend at the One Purse Charity Car & Truck Show.

The show takes place Saturday from 2–8 p.m. at Sunset Walk and is part of the destination’s larger Labor Day weekend celebration.

Labor Day 5K

Date: Sept. 6 

Location: Harbor Park at Lake Baldwin, Orlando

Start Sunday morning by celebrating the American worker — and getting a workout in — at the 7th Annual Labor Day 5K.

The 5K starts and finishes at Harbor Park and follows a scenic route around Lake Baldwin. The race is open to runners and walkers of all experience levels, with discounts available for children and military, veterans, and first responders.

Grande Labor Day Weekend 5K

Date: Sept. 6 

Location: Grande Lakes Orlando

There’s another way to get your steps in Sunday morning at the Grande Labor Day Weekend 5K at Grande Lakes Orlando.

The family-friendly walk and fun run begins at 7 a.m. and takes participants through the resort’s scenic championship golf course. Afterward, runners can enjoy champagne or mimosas, healthy snacks, stretching and massage services. The event is open to the general public and all ages.

Labor Day Triple

Date: Sept. 5–7 

Location: Winter Park

For serious runners looking for a Labor Day weekend challenge, the Labor Day Triple offers multiple race distances across the holiday weekend, including 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon options.

The event runs September 5–7, giving runners the opportunity to make a full race weekend out of the holiday.

Island Nights Live! Featuring Rick Ross

Date: Sept. 4, 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.

Location: Sunset Walk, Kissimmee

Kick off Labor Day weekend with a concert at Sunset Walk. Island Nights Live! featuring Rick Ross is scheduled for Friday night from 8 p.m. to midnight as part of Sunset Walk’s four-day Labor Day celebration.

Labor Day Weekend Party at Anthem Orlando

Date: Sept. 5 

Location: Anthem Orlando

If you’re looking for a nightlife option, Anthem Orlando is hosting a Labor Day weekend party Saturday night featuring DJs and late-night entertainment.

It’s an option for adults looking to trade the family barbecue for a night out on the town.

Labor Day Weekend Trap Takeover

Date: Sept. 5 

Location: Mamajuana Lounge & Bar, Orlando

Latin music fans can head to Mamajuana Lounge & Bar Saturday night for a Labor Day Weekend Trap Takeover featuring Jon Z and Anonimus.

The event is geared toward an adult nightlife crowd and gets started Saturday evening.

Labor Day Jazz Festival with Eric Alexander

Date: Sept. 7 

Location: Timucua Arts Foundation, Orlando

End the holiday weekend with live jazz at the Labor Day Jazz Festival.

The event takes place Monday, September 7, from 3–10:30 p.m. at Timucua Arts Foundation and features saxophonist Eric Alexander. Tickets are required starting at $50. 

Greater Orlando Labor Day Tournament

Date: Sept. 4–7 

Location: Orlando

Youth hockey teams will take over Orlando for the Greater Orlando Labor Day Tournament, bringing teams to the area throughout the holiday weekend.

For families traveling for the tournament, it offers a full weekend of competition and gives local hockey fans a chance to catch some games.

Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic

Date: Sept. 4–6 

Location: Kia Center, Orlando

Families can kick off the holiday weekend with Disney On Ice presents Spotlight Magic!

The Orlando run begins Friday, September 4, with performances continuing through Sunday, September 6. The show brings Disney characters and stories to the ice and gives families a Labor Day weekend option that doesn’t require spending the entire day at a theme park.

Red, White & Blue Nights at Luminary Green Park

Date: Monday, Aug. 24 – Monday, Sept. 7

Location: Luminary Green Park, Orlando

Luminary Green Park is also hosting Red, White & Blue Nights, a patriotic nighttime projection experience running through Labor Day.

The evening experience pairs nicely with a trip downtown, particularly for anyone looking for something low-key to do after dinner.
