For many students, maintaining a healthy lifestyle in college can feel nearly impossible. Between demanding class schedules, tight budgets, small dorm rooms, and constant academic pressure, wellness routines often fall to the bottom of the priority list.
FORM, a digital wellness platform, hopes to change that with the launch of FORM University, a new in-app program designed specifically to support wellness for college students. The initiative combines fitness, nutrition guidance, and mental health tools tailored to the realities of campus life.
Unlike traditional wellness programs that require long workouts or complicated routines, FORM University focuses on practical habits that fit into a student’s day. The program offers short workouts, dorm-friendly meals, and mindfulness exercises designed to help students build consistent routines even during busy semesters.
Health Designed for College Life
FORM University offers plenty of resources to help with all things health, including physical activity, meal prep, and mental health.
One of the biggest challenges students face when trying to stay active is finding time and space to exercise. FORM University addresses this by offering quick workouts for college students that take about 10 minutes.
The workouts require minimal equipment, often only a resistance band, ankle weights, or even a chair, making them ideal for dorm room workouts or small apartments. By eliminating the need for a full gym setup, the program makes fitness more accessible for students with limited space or resources.
The platform’s approach is centered on consistency rather than perfection. Instead of encouraging intense, hour-long workouts, FORM University encourages students to move regularly in shorter bursts that fit between a busy schedule.
In addition to fitness, the program offers guidance around healthy eating in college, an area where many students struggle. Rather than relying on meal plans, FORM University includes simple recipes, nutrition tips, and grocery lists to assist.
Meals are designed to be made using dining hall ingredients or basic dorm appliances like microwaves and mini-fridges. This approach aims to make healthy food options for college students more practical and affordable.
Student mental health has also become an increasingly important conversation on college campuses. FORM University integrates mindfulness and meditation practices designed specifically for student life.
The app includes guided sessions that address challenges such as exam stress, anxiety, and adjusting to independence. These short mental exercises can be completed between classes or during study breaks.
The platform also uses personalized recommendations, adjusting programming based on user engagement and habits to help students stay consistent with their wellness routines.
Building Healthy Habits Early
According to FORM co-founder Sami Spalter, the idea for FORM University came from recognizing how few accessible wellness resources exist for students navigating college life.
“These are the tools I wish I had in college. There was truly nothing like it — but it’s such a gift to learn how to prioritize your health at such a young age because it sets the foundation for a healthy relationship with movement, nutrition, and mental health for the rest of your life,” said Spalter in a statement.
As conversations about student wellness in college continue to grow, FORM University aims to provide a flexible approach that works within the constraints of campus life. The goal is to help students build healthier routines without adding more pressure to their already busy schedules.
