On Wednesday, June 17, 5 Seconds of Summer made a stop in Orlando on the tour for their sixth album Everyone’s A Star! The concert took place in the Kia Center. If unfamiliar with the band, one might remember how they were once an opener for One Direction. With songs like “She Looks So Perfect,” “Teeth,” “Youngblood,” “She’s Kinda Hot,” and “Ghost Of You,” they have made quite a name for themselves in their own right.
The Kia Center has a few parking options included, ThreatLocker Garage located at 400 West South Street or the 520 W Pine St. Garage. These garages are pre-paid and have to be reserved. They usually cost upwards of $30. There are also other places to park downtown that are usually between $10 and $20. However, a stress-free alternative for some might be ubering. The drivers are able to drop off and pick up pretty close to the venue. This also saves the attendee from not having to scour the treacherous lands of downtown Orlando for a parking spot or pay for parking.

When we arrived, the Kia Center thankfully proved to be easily navigable. Once a double cocktail, hot pretzel, and hot dog were acquired, we were in our seats in no time.
The opener was The Band Camino. While many people don’t pay much attention to the opener, this band had people out of their seats singing along to their indie rock songs. Starting exactly at 8 p.m., their set ran for about 45 minutes and 10 songs including some popular tracks like “Holly!” and “See Through.”

After a few minutes, the lights went out and already fans screamed in anticipation. A video echoed with interviews of the band members talking about “the peak” of their career and the pandemonium they encountered. They included a few jokes that only fans would recognize.
The last time 5SOS were in Orlando was 10 years ago after playing at the House of Blues, which they joked “scared them off.” With 10,000 audience members and their palpable stage presence, it was easy to understand how the band has stayed successful after 15 years.

Throughout the concert, when they weren’t singing, they played videos with each one being an act, like a play. Each act was aptly titled “The Peak,” “The Fall,” “The Yearning,” “The Breakup,” “The Rise” and “The Beginning.” During every section, the band played songs that corresponded to the title of that part of the concert.
While not returning to Orlando, 5 Seconds of Summer will stay on tour until December visiting Hollywood, Florida on Aug. 12. For more information or tickets, visit HERE.
