SomaCell: The Non-Surgical Facelift Transforming Skin Care for All Skin Types

Medical aesthetician Kim Laudati said she remembers what it felt like to look in the mirror for the first time after years of battling acne and rosacea and think, “My face looks amazing.”

As an aesthetician, she said she has dedicated her work to helping others feel confident in themselves, which is something she hopes to continue with SomaCell, an FDA-cleared non-invasive facelift procedure.

Laudati is the founder and President of SomaCell, and she presented it in Orlando during the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) Annual Conference on Energy-Based Medicine and Science at the Orange County Convention Center from April 24-26.

SomaCell uses acoustic wave therapy, which works with the body to naturally create collagen and connective tissue fibers for tighter and more lifted skin, without any pain, scarring, or downtime. Popular modalities for treatment, such as lasers and ultrasounds, “wound” the skin with heat, whereas SomaCell works with the foundational layers of the skin to produce lasting results.

“I’m really, really excited to be able to say ‘We’re not going to wound you. We’re not going to harm you. We’re not going to restrict you. We’re not going to make you not look like yourself. We’re going to just help you regenerate, rejuvenate and still look like yourself but it’s going to be a fabulous version of yourself, naturally,’” Laudati said.

As a provider, she said she feels SomaCell breaks down barriers for those who may have been restricted because it was not safe for them to participate in other modalities that use heat due to their skin type, sun activity, or age.

“With SomaCall, it doesn’t matter what your ethnicity is, what your skin color is, or what your sun activity is,” Laudati said. “If you’re afraid of lasers, or you’re afraid of surgery, or maybe your skin is too thin for surgery, we answer all those questions because all those patients that can’t be treated [with heat modalities] can be treated with SomaCell.”

“I get so excited because it is universal.”

Through her time using SomaCell with patients, she said has found it is safe to use over short facial hair, and with the clinical evidence they have, it does not pose any extra risk of skin cancer.

Currently, SomaCell is only available in Manhattan and Philadelphia, but Laudati said they are pushing to have providers all over the country.

As she continues to use SomaCell with patients, Laudati said she is excited to be able to help a wide array of patients look in the mirror and feel amazing.

“I know what it felt like not having great skin,” Laudati said. “A personal reason why I’m so excited about SomaCell because it really delivers on all its promises, and it works on me, too.”
