November is our 31st Annual Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament. The continued success of this event is always of importance because the proceeds benefit our chamber’s Phil Cloninger Memorial Scholarship.
Red tide is a naturally occurring event that presents an above-average concentration of microscopic algae, which causes discoloration of water. It begins to generate offshore and is brought inward through the power of ocean currents and strong winds.
Set within a 23-acre park, the Winter Park Canopy, which will house the city’s new library & events center, will offer spectacular views of the water’s edge and beautiful natural surroundings. The city has approved conceptual and schematic designs, and on September 24 approved the preliminary and final Conditional Use to advance the design and engineering of the buildings.
Local celebs and VIPs enjoyed an evening filled with gourmet food, a silent auction and live entertainment. Several awards were given out to Special Olympic athletes, coaches and volunteers, including “Athlete of the Year” and “Coach of the Year.”
More than 180 Florida artists will showcase their paintings, pottery, sculpture and more at the 45th Annual Winter Park Autumn Art Festival on Oct. 13 and 14. Billed as “Fine Art, Florida, Family Fun,” the sidewalk show offers quality art and live entertainment. The festival booths will line Central Park along historic Park Avenue.

Over 100 of the finest artists from around the country will display their artwork throughout Blumberg Boulevard at the Winter Springs Town Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
