Judson’s Live Ribbon Cutting in Honor of Friday’s Grand Opening

In the heart of downtown Orlando, a new beacon of culture and community has emerged with the grand opening of ‘Judson’s Live’ this week. Nestled within the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts, this intimate live music space makes arts accessible to all.

To commemorate the moment, the Dr.Phillips Center invited the community to experience a first look at its soon-to-be award-winning venue, including a ribbon cutting, light bites, and bubbly on Jan.31. 

A Vibrant Week for the City of Orlando

Community Inclusivity and Culture at Judson’s

Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings underscored the venue’s inclusive and celebratory nature with his light-hearted jest about gracing the stage with his musical talents, underscored the venue’s inclusive and celebratory spirit.

As Mayor Demings remarked, it enhances the city’s cultural repertoire, offering residents and visitors a rich tapestry of artistic experiences.

The Heart of “Judson’s Live Orlando”: A Legacy of Jazz

At the heart of ‘Judson’s Live’ is the legacy of Judson Green, whose passion for jazz and the arts has been immortalized through this space. 

Dr. Phillips Center Board Member & Founding Donor Joyce Green’s heartfelt tribute to Judson’s lifelong love affair with music, particularly jazz, highlighted the venue’s mission to illuminate the art form’s transformative power. 

The inclusion of Judson’s recordings during the opening lent a poignant touch, bridging past and present in a melody of memories and aspirations.

Operational Vision for the New Venue

Dr. Phillips Center President & CEO Kathy Ramsberger’s insights into the operational vision of ‘Judson’s Live’ reveal a commitment to creating a multifaceted experience. With plans for diverse musical programming and a welcoming environment for enjoying music alongside culinary delights, the venue promises to be a hub of cultural engagement and enjoyment. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday, with two shows a night and three shows on Sunday, including a brunch.
