Halloween season is officially taking over Central Florida. From elaborate haunted houses and after-dark theme park events to family-friendly trick-or-treating, costume contests, spooky pop-ups, and Halloween celebrations with a distinctly Florida twist, there are plenty of ways to celebrate throughout the region.
Whether you’re searching for serious scares, something to do with the kids, a Halloween date night, or a place to show off your costume, here’s our guide to some of the biggest and most unique Halloween events happening this spooky season.
Haunted Experiences
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando

HHN is back for another season of haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, and after-dark thrills. The separately ticketed event transforms Universal Studios Florida once the sun goes down, creating environments filled with monsters, characters, and horror-themed storytelling.
With multiple haunted houses and scare zones to explore, guests can spend an entire evening making their way through the park. Just keep in mind that this is designed to be genuinely frightening rather than a family-friendly Halloween event.
Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando gets a darker makeover for Howl-O-Scream, turning the park into an after-hours Halloween experience filled with haunted houses, scare zones, and live entertainment.
During the day, SeaWorld remains a family attraction, but once Howl-O-Scream begins, the atmosphere changes considerably. It’s a good option for older guests who want Halloween scares combined with the rides and entertainment of a major theme park.
A Petrified Forest Scream Park

A Petrified Forest Scream Park offers a different kind of haunted experience by taking guests outdoors and sending them through elaborately themed scare trails.

Mortem Manor Haunted Attraction

If you want to get scared without committing to a full theme-park Halloween event, Mortem Manor is a dedicated haunted attraction located in Kissimmee’s Old Town.
The attraction operates beyond the traditional Halloween season, making it an option for visitors who want to experience a haunted house before or after Halloween weekend. It’s also conveniently located near many of the area’s restaurants, attractions, and entertainment options.

Head toward Plant City for Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail, an outdoor Halloween attraction featuring multiple haunted experiences.
The trails put guests directly into the action as they make their way through dark, themed environments filled with characters and scares. It’s a good choice for anyone willing to venture outside the Orlando area for a more traditional outdoor haunt.

The seasonal event brings Halloween to the ranch with its Haunted Stables Experience, a scary walkthrough, scare zones, eerie photo opportunities, games, and seasonal food and beverages. Guests can also explore the Spooky Adventure Park for additional Halloween entertainment.
The event runs on Fridays and Saturdays. On Halloween night, the ranch will also add a special Halloween-themed rodeo to its lineup, giving the celebration a distinctly Western twist.
Visitors who want to extend their Halloween adventure can also book accommodations at the resort and turn the evening into an overnight getaway.

Not every Halloween experience requires a haunted house. American Ghost Adventures offers walking tours and paranormal experiences that explore Orlando’s history through stories of supposedly haunted locations and local legends.
Guests can participate in paranormal investigations using ghost-hunting equipment while learning about the history behind the locations. The company also offers a 21+ haunted pub crawl for those who want to combine spooky stories with a night out downtown.
Halloween Fun

The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is celebrating Halloween with its annual Zoo Boo Bash, presented by Orlando Health Children’s. The daytime event gives kids the opportunity to dress up, trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween activities without the scares associated with traditional haunted attractions.
Throughout the zoo, guests will find Halloween decorations, trick-or-treat stations, fall games, character appearances and other seasonal activities. There are also special food and drink offerings, animal enrichment and a pumpkin decorating contest on select dates.
All Zoo Boo Bash activities are included with regular zoo admission, making it an easy way to turn a family trip to the zoo into a Halloween outing.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

For a Halloween celebration that’s more magical than frightening, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes over Magic Kingdom on select evenings throughout the season.
The separately ticketed event features Halloween costumes, trick-or-treating throughout the park, special character appearances, the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, Halloween entertainment and the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks.
Hallow’s Fall Fest at Krush Brau Park

Halloween gets a German-inspired twist at Krush Brau Park’s Hallow’s Fall Fest in Kissimmee.
The daytime celebration brings together fall activities and Halloween traditions, with trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, music, crafts and costume contests for kids, adults and pets. Costumes are encouraged, so it’s also a fun opportunity for families and their four-legged members to get into character.
Guests looking for something a little scarier can purchase separate admission to the park’s haunted house and escape room experiences, giving visitors the option to make their afternoon more family-friendly or turn it into a full Halloween outing.
Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld offers a completely different Halloween experience during the day with its family-friendly Halloween Spooktacular.
Instead of haunted houses and scare zones, the event focuses on playful Halloween entertainment, costumed characters and seasonal activities. Children can enjoy the festivities while still having access to the park’s regular attractions and animal experiences.
Weird Wonders at Museum of Illusions Orlando

Halloween gets a playful twist at Museum of Illusions Orlando with Weird Wonders, a seasonal experience that adds Halloween-themed surprises to the attraction’s collection of optical illusions.
Visitors can explore the museum’s interactive exhibits while looking for spooky twists and unexpected visual tricks. The October experience also includes a Halloween-themed Illusion Quest and trick-or-treating, making it a fun alternative to a traditional Halloween attraction.
Rather than relying on jump scares, Weird Wonders is all about mystery, optical illusions and those “wait, how did that happen?” moments.
Halloween at Aloma Bowling Centers

Two Central Florida bowling centers are getting into the Halloween spirit on Oct. 31 with free afternoon celebrations.
At Aloma Bowl, families can take part in the returning Trunk or Treat, while Airport Lanes will host an indoor Spooktacular Treat Trail. Both events offer families a chance to celebrate Halloween, collect treats and show off their costumes without committing to a ticketed attraction.
Wekiva Island Halloween Celebration

The afternoon kicks off with a free trick-or-treating event for children beneath the Solar Array from 2–3 p.m., followed by a costume parade. It’s a more relaxed way for families to celebrate Halloween while enjoying the riverfront setting.
After the kids’ celebration wraps up, Wekiva Island shifts into an adults-only Halloween party from 7–11 p.m. The evening includes a costume contest with thousands of dollars in prizes, with the contest beginning at 8 p.m.
Both events are free, although guests should check the venue’s current event information before attending for any updates.
Monsters Bash at Sugar Factory Orlando

Sugar Factory Orlando is transforming its ICON Park location into a colorful Halloween-themed experience with its Monsters Bash pop-up.
The restaurant is decorated from floor to ceiling for the season, creating plenty of photo opportunities while its menu gets a Halloween makeover of its own. Seasonal creations include oversized desserts and themed savory dishes, including the Pumpkin King Kong, Frankenstein Burger and Monster Mash Pancakes.
The experience is more playful than scary, making it an option for families or anyone who would rather celebrate Halloween over an elaborate dessert than inside a haunted house.

LEGOLAND Florida Brick-or-Treat

Brick-or-Treat brings Halloween to LEGOLAND with trick-or-treating, seasonal entertainment, LEGO characters, and Halloween-themed activities. The event is designed with younger children in mind and offers a much more playful take on the holiday.

Polk State College’s annual FallFest combines fall activities with Halloween fun, including games, crafts, food, entertainment, and family activities. The event also features haunted-house elements and activities hosted by college clubs and organizations.
Fall Festival at the Visit Central Florida Welcome Center

Families can start their Halloween festivities at Visit Central Florida’s annual fall festival, which includes trick-or-treating, face painting, arts and crafts, and seasonal vendors. Costumes are welcome, and the event is free to attend.
