Families can expect magical moments, unforgettable photo opportunities, and exciting character encounters when the 2026 Florida Kids & Family Expo returns to the Orange County Convention Center on August 22-23.
As Central Florida’s largest family-focused event, the Expo will bring together more than 200 exhibitors, sponsors, and community partners for a weekend packed with hands-on activities, entertainment, educational resources, sports experiences, family services, and interactive attractions. Among the biggest draws each year are the beloved character meet-and-greets that give children the chance to interact with some of their favorite heroes and storybook icons.
Leading the character experiences once again is Ever After Character Events, a longtime Expo partner known throughout Central Florida for its princess parties, superhero adventures, pirate celebrations, and immersive character entertainment. Based in Southwest Orlando, the company has built a reputation for creating memorable experiences through professionally trained performers, authentic costumes, and engaging interactions.
“Ever After Character Events has been part of the Florida Kids & Family Expo for years, and families absolutely love the experiences they create,” said Brandi Zrallack, co-founder of the Florida Kids & Family Expo. “Watching children light up when they meet their favorite princess, superhero, or storybook character is one of the most magical parts of the entire weekend.”
Star Wars fans will also have plenty to celebrate as members of the internationally recognized 501st Legion return to the Expo. Known for their screen-accurate costumes and dedication to bringing the Star Wars universe to life, the volunteer organization will offer guests opportunities to meet iconic characters and capture memorable photos.
Character encounters and interactive experiences will be featured throughout the Expo thanks to several participating exhibitors and attractions, including WonderWorks Orlando, Pikabellechu with Pokémon-themed fun, Real Life Cosplay, and A Pirate’s Life Experience, which will make its Expo debut with pirates, parrots, and hands-on adventures.
Families can also look forward to appearances by the beloved Chick-fil-A Cows, while organizers say attendees may even spot a Transformer or two courtesy of Transform Your Event.
Adding extra value for families, every child attending the Expo with a paid child admission ticket on Saturday, August 22, will receive a free Kids Meal at the Chick-fil-A location on Universal Boulevard.
“The character experiences are one of the things that make the Florida Kids & Family Expo so unique,” Zrallack said. “It’s not just about seeing characters from a distance. Kids have the opportunity to interact, take photos, share hugs, and create memories that families will cherish long after the event is over.”
Beyond the character meet-and-greets, attendees can explore more than 10 themed Fun Zones, enjoy live entertainment, participate in sports activities, discover educational opportunities, connect with health and wellness providers, and take part in giveaways, demonstrations, and interactive exhibits.
The Florida Kids & Family Expo attracts thousands of parents, grandparents, and caregivers each year, serving as a one-stop destination for discovering local businesses, schools, camps, attractions, healthcare providers, sports programs, and family resources.
