As Central Florida’s tourism industry grows, Winter Park-based architecture and interior design firm Schenkel Shultz has completed a new headquarters for Visit Orlando, the destination marketing organization responsible for promoting Orlando for travelers worldwide.
The 23,000-square-foot office is located on the third floor of the 6649 Westwood Office complex and was designed to support Visit Orlando’s evolving workplace needs while reflecting its global brand and mission. Visit Orlando is a not-for-profit trade association that brands, markets, and sells the Orlando destination around the world.
The new headquarters features an open office layout that encourages collaboration, along with flexible gathering spaces that can be reconfigured for meetings and events. Additional amenities include a boardroom with a hospitality kitchen, an employee breakroom, a cafe, and accessible restrooms.
Visitors enter through a hosting suite that highlights Visit Orlando’s awards and achievements. Custom environmental graphics installed throughout the office reinforce the organization’s identity and showcase its role in the tourism industry.
“When designing the new office space, our goal was to honor the organization’s mission and global identity while also developing cutting-edge spaces to effectively serve the team for years to come,” said Ekta Desai, partner and design lead at Schenkel Shultz. “Our design reflects a welcoming, innovative workplace environment that is rooted in the distinct values of Visit Orlando.”
Cassandra Matej, president and CEO of Visit Orlando, said the organization prioritized creating a workplace that supports employees while welcoming partners and clients.
“Our people are at the heart of everything we do, so designing a space that fosters collaboration, creativity, and connection was a top priority,” Matej said in a statement. “It allows us to work seamlessly with partners around the world while creating welcoming spaces for our team and our clients, and we’re grateful to Schenkel Shultz for helping us bring the vision to life.”
This project adds to Schenkel Shultz’s portfolio of tourism and hospitality work throughout Central Florida. The firm previously designed the headquarters for the Orlando Economic Partnership and served as general consultant to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority from 2004 to 2020. During that time, Schenkel Shultz contributed to several major projects at Orlando International Airport, including the South Terminal Complex Master Plan, the Intermodal Terminal Facility, and the first phase of Terminal C.
Founded 40 years ago and headquartered in Winter Park, Schenkel Shultz provides architecture and interior design services across multiple sectors, including education, health care, commercial, civic, and hospitality. The firm was named the American Institute of Architects Orlando Chapter’s 2025 Firm of the Year.
