WWE NXT is returning to its original home at Full Sail University for a special one-night event. “NXT Homecoming” will broadcast live from Full Sail University’s Full Sail Live on Tuesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on The CW.

This special event marks NXT’s first broadcast since 2020, bringing fans front-row access to action-packed performances, all while paying homage to where the “black and gold” era began.

A Decade of Partnership and Opportunity

“We are thrilled to welcome our partners from WWE back to campus for NXT Homecoming,” stated John P. Saboor, Executive Director, Head of Partnerships at Full Sail University. “We’re excited to celebrate NXT’s history and meteoric growth, and to amplify our long-standing partnership.”

The return celebrates a collaborative partnership between WWE and Full Sail University that began in 2012. For nearly a decade, Full Sail’s campus served as the home base for NXT, providing countless real-world learning experiences for students. These opportunities include:

  • Hands-on Production Roles: Students get to work directly alongside WWE’s production professionals, gaining practical experience in a live broadcast environment.
  • Shadowing Opportunities: Students have the chance to observe and learn from WWE employees in various roles, gaining valuable insight into the professional entertainment industry.
  • Workforce Pipeline: The partnership has created a direct path for Full Sail alumni to secure behind-the-scenes jobs with WWE.

To date, 1,400 Full Sail students have gained hands-on experience through this partnership, while alumni contribute their talents to WWE’s global content and signature events.

“Alongside our incredible partners at Full Sail University, we’re coming back to where it all began. NXT returns to Full Sail live,” said WWE Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque

Special Events and Scholarships Planned

Leading up to the live broadcast, Full Sail students will be treated to a day of guest lectures and presentations featuring NXT Superstars and members of WWE’s professional production team.

During the event, Full Sail students and alumni who have participated in the production of NXT live events since its birth will be recognized. As a highlight of the celebration, a significant scholarship announcement is also expected to be made.
