Tickets for “the longest-running theatre festival of its kind” are going on sale Wednesday, as Central Florida gears up to celebrate 35 years of Orlando Fringe.
From May 12-25, the Orlando Fringe Festival at Loch Haven Park will feature over 1,000 ticketed performances, a free outdoor music festival, Visual Fringe, Kids Fringe and more. Ticketed shows range from free to $15.
“May in Orlando means Orlando Fringe, and this year is even more special as we celebrate 35 Years Weird!” Orlando Fringe leadership team Tempestt Halstead, Melissa Fritzinger and Genevieve Bernard said in a press release. There is truly no place else like Fringe where artists show up exactly as they are and audiences experience something unlike anything else – the weird, wacky, heartwarming, incomparable and fantastically Fringe-y. From the artists and patrons to the staff and volunteers, Fringe is a closely connected family that grows each year, and we can’t wait to join together over an unforgettable two weeks and celebrate 35 Years Weird with everyone.”
Ahead of the 14 days of festivities, Orlando Fringe is inviting guests to its ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 12 at 7 p.m. in the Silver Venue at Orlando Family Stage. Following the ceremony, attendees can watch the National and International Artists’ Teaser Show, which features 90-second live teaser performances for touring shows representing four countries and 15 states this year.
Along with performances spanning a plethora of genres, the Orlando Fringe Festival is introducing Fr!ngeMart, an outdoor market, and the first-ever Eco-Fringe Expo, shining a light on sustainability.

In honor of hitting another milestone, the festival is celebrating with nostalgic 35th anniversary experiences like artist salons, poetry slams and interactive photo moments for “35 Years of Weird and Wonderful.”
As new elements join the festival, Orlando Fringe stays true to being “100% uncensored, 100% unjuried, 100% accessible, 100% inclusive and 100% of all tickets go directly back to the artists.”
“Fringe only works because of the exchange between artists and audiences,” Halstead said. “Take a chance. See something you would not normally pick. Walk into a room without reading too much about it. Those are often the shows people end up talking about the most.”
