Six Orlando Teens Selected for 2025 Disney Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World

Six ambitious high school students from the Orlando area have been selected to join 100 Dreamers from across the country for the 2025 Disney Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida this March. This life-changing four-day mentoring program empowers students to pursue their dreams with guidance from celebrities, business leaders, educators, and Disney executives.

The Orlando-area students are:

  • Kylie Fuller – Kissimmee, FL
  • Kaylee Pickford – Kissimmee, FL
  • Somaya Russell – Orlando, FL
  • Kaitlyn Smith – Mt. Dora, FL
  • Diongela Theard – Orlando, FL
  • Jasmine Thomas – Apopka, FL

These teens, along with others selected nationwide, will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World Resort from March 26-30, 2025. During the program, participants will engage in workshops designed to enhance their communication, leadership, and networking skills. They will also explore diverse career fields and connect with industry professionals to help accelerate their aspirations.

A Platform for Future Leaders

Established in 2008, Disney Dreamers Academy has supported more than 1,700 students, helping them unlock their potential and achieve their goals. Participants are chosen through a competitive application process that includes essay questions about their personal stories and future ambitions. The program reflects Walt Disney World’s commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion by providing opportunities for students from underrepresented communities.

“We are thrilled to spark new possibilities and provide these future leaders with the tools they need to chase their dreams,” Shannon Smith-Conrad, Walt Disney World Ambassador said. “After 18 years of hosting Disney Dreamers Academy, we continue to be inspired by these teens and their incredible accomplishments.”

A Dream-Filled Experience

In addition to career-building activities, students will immerse themselves in the magic of Walt Disney World, experiencing its attractions and entertainment offerings. The program continues to be a highlight of Disney’s broader investments in inspiring the next generation of innovators and creators.

Dreamers have gone on to achieve success in fields such as engineering, journalism, technology, and the arts. Many alumni return as mentors to support new Dreamers and share their experiences.
