Red Hot & Boom Returns to Cranes Roost Park on July 3 with Fireworks, Music, and Family Fun

One of Central Florida’s most anticipated Independence Day celebrations is back. The City of Altamonte Springs will host Red Hot & Boom on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Cranes Roost Park. This free, family-friendly event draws more than 150,000 guests annually with its dynamic mix of live music, food vendors, and an electrifying fireworks finale.

Media Preview Scheduled for July 1

Ahead of the festivities, media are invited to a special preview opportunity on Tuesday, July 1 at 9:30 a.m. at the Eddie Rose Amphitheater in Cranes Roost Park. This informal event offers behind-the-scenes visuals and interviews with key event personnel, including:

  • Frank Martz, City Manager, City of Altamonte Springs

  • Deana Dipaola, Public Information Officer, Altamonte Springs Police Department

  • Tod Zellers, Assistant Chief of Special Operations, Seminole County Fire Department

Media parking is available at Altamonte Lakeside Park (283 Cranes Roost Blvd., Altamonte Springs, FL 32701).

Live Music, Food, and Fireworks

The July 3 celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. with live performances on the floating stage. The 2025 lineup includes:

  • Steven Cardwell & The Neon Drifters

The evening culminates in a 25-minute choreographed fireworks show set to a blend of patriotic and contemporary music at 9:30 p.m., weather permitting. Featuring over 14,000 pyrotechnic effects, the display promises to light up the night in spectacular fashion.

Event Safety and Guest Preparedness

Red Hot & Boom is a rain-or-shine event. While fireworks may be delayed for weather safety, the show will go on unless severe conditions arise. Attendees should stay hydrated—misting stations, first-aid tents, and concessions will be available throughout the park.

The Altamonte Springs Police Department, with support from local and regional agencies, oversees a comprehensive security plan. Multiple checkpoints will be in place, and guests are encouraged to report suspicious activity by calling 855-FLA-SAFE or using the Florida See Say app.

Traffic and Parking Updates

Several roads in the Cranes Roost Park area will begin closing as early as Wednesday, July 2. After the fireworks, surrounding streets will convert to one-way exits to improve traffic flow. What to Bring—and What to Leave at Home

To enhance comfort, guests may bring:

  • Pop-up tents or canopies (10’x10’ max, no sides; amphitheater tents must be removed by 5 p.m.)

  • Blankets or tarps (10’x10’ max)

  • Folding or beach chairs

  • Soft-sided coolers with a shoulder strap or handle (all bags are subject to inspection)

Prohibited items include:

  • Drones

  • Alcohol or drugs

  • Glass containers

  • Large or wheeled coolers

  • Weapons or fireworks

  • Grills, propane tanks, or open flames

  • Pets (no pets allowed in the park starting at 7 a.m. on July 3)

Family Fun and VIP Experiences

The event offers something for everyone:

  • Kid Zone: Free activities include a trampoline bungee jump, rock wall, and inflatable games.

  • Food & Shopping: Guests can enjoy festival-style foods and browse global merchandise vendors from 5–10 p.m.

  • Oasis Beer Garden: Guests 21+ can upgrade their experience at this exclusive zone sponsored by Wayne Densch, Inc. The Oasis features shaded seating, TVs, games, food, and drinks. Tickets include food and drink vouchers and are available at Altamonte.org/RHB. Valid ID required for entry.
