The City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board (DDB) approved DTOLive, a local arts and culture activation initiative, for a second year.

The program began in June 2024, working with United Arts of Central Florida to bring free arts experiences to the Orlando community. So far, DTOLive has funded over 1,000 downtown events.

“With the renewal of DTOLive, we’re continuing to invest in the creative spirit that makes downtown Orlando so special,” Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said in a press release. “This program not only supports our local artists but also strengthens our economy, brings people together, and celebrates the cultural richness of our community.”

DTOLive is held in various locations around downtown, including City Hall and Lake Eola. The initiative is part of the City’s focus on making Orlando more community-centric.

“DTOLive exemplifies our vision for downtown – a place where culture, commerce, and community come together,” David Barilla, Executive Director of the Downtown Development Board said in a press release. “By investing in programs like DTOLive, we are supporting local talent, creating memorable experiences, and fostering a vibrant urban core.”

Working with United Arts of Central Florida, DTOLive continues to align with the city’s goals of economic vitality, community connection, cultural celebration and accessibility.

“DTOLive is an inspiring example of how public-private partnerships can enliven a city and make the arts part of everyday life,” Jennifer Evins, President and CEO of United Arts of Central Florida said in a press release. “We are proud to lead this program and support the creative professionals who bring it to life.”
