Event Details

Downtown South officially announces the kick off to the holiday season with the 3rd Annual Light Up Downtown South ’15 sponsored by Orlando Health and Iberia Bank. The tree lighting ceremony will take place Sunday December 6, 2015, at Lake Beauty Park, located at the corner of South Orange Avenue and Miller Street.

The family festive evening will feature the lighting of the official Downtown South 20-foot live Christmas tree, food trucks, caroling by local school choirs from The Christ School and Blanker Elementary school, the Orlando Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, unique car displays, holiday activities, and of course a special visit from Santa Claus. The event is free to the public and encourages businesses and residents in the Downtown South neighborhoods to come together for this community event.

“There are many wonderful holiday events throughout the City of Orlando that get us in the holiday spirit,” says City of Orlando District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan. “One of my favorites is Downtown South’s lighting of the Christmas tree at Lake Beauty Park. Light Up Downtown South’s event really does light up my holiday. Come join us for one of my favorite holiday traditions!”

Free parking will be available in Orlando Health parking garages, parking lots of the medical professional buildings surrounding the lake, and on the street.
