Disney Springs Levels Up with Level 99

On Monday, June 29, Level 99 has its grand opening at Disney Springs. This two-story building houses 63 rooms, each with different games. It is located around the corner from the Orange Garage and right across from the House of Blues.

We were able to go ahead of time to check it out. When walking in, we were met with cool air, Mai-Tais, and appetizers. After getting past the entrance we saw mini rooms all around the floor and all with some type of theme, different from the one before. After walking past a game titled “Axe Run” where you have to avoid getting hit by axes, the bar was revealed to us. It was quite big and what really caught our eye was the huge light up, color changing structure that was in the middle.

After testing a few drinks and eating some of the food passed around, it was time for the ribbon cutting. Members of Disney Springs and Level 99 leadership expressed how happy and excited they were to unveil this new building and how they even planned to expand the franchise by opening a new Level 99 every four months. After the ribbon was cut, it was time to play.

For the next three hours we played all sorts of games. Our agility, speed, endurance, strength, and brain were all tested. Thankfully, not all at the same time. Usually games only target one or two of our skills. While we enjoyed some games more than others, we overall had a good time. Our favorites were “Wavelength Flux,” “Wild Style,” and “Crystal Visions.” There are plenty of physical or mental games, that allow you to prove your brain, brawn, or both.

We were given wristbands that were tied to our ticket and also worked to unlock and register us for the rooms we wanted to play. Users are also able to personalize the wristband with customizable names and logos that work to represent users for the room and communal leaderboard. Whether you’re a new member or a returning, the wristband saves your progress from your last visit.

When not playing games, we were eating. They provided us with Detroit-style pizza, burgers, tacos, Caesar salad, chocolate-chip cookies, and more. They also had an array of alcoholic drinks to choose from including their “Mai Tai Have Another” and “Frozen Irish Coffee.”

The atmosphere was quite lively. All the game rooms on the floors served also as colorful decor. The bar was big, but its circular structure made it interesting to walk around and see just how many bartenders there were and what they were all doing. While there was a sizable group of people that day, there was plenty of space to sit, lounge, and not feel in anybody’s way or claustrophobic. When the staff wasn’t asking to take our trash, they were asking how many stars we got in a game or which one was our favorite.

The games last around one to four minutes and allow for groups of two to six. For more information, visit HERE.
