Orlando’s ICEBAR has unveiled new drinks in the spirit of celebrating America’s 250th birthday. This “Red, White & Chill” menu includes a Firecracker Margarita, Liberty Lemonade, Star Spangled Smash, ‘Merica Mule, Freedom Flight, and the Summer Sparkler mocktail.
For a limited time, guests can purchase a special “Red, White & Chill” Package for $25. This includes one ICEBAR entry, jacket and gloves rental, one Premium ICEBAR drink, and one appetizer of choice in the room temperature Fire Lounge. The package is available nightly from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. We were invited to check out what the package offered.
When we arrived, we noticed the fur coats that hung on a rack near the wall. We wouldn’t be needing that yet, as we were only in the Fire Lounge, but were excited for when the time would come to don the apparel. We were shown to our table and given menus. There we decided on the steak kebabs and truffle fries. We also tried their specialty shots, including a birthday-flavored one with a sprinkle-covered rim.
Our server Emily made sure to take good care of us as we put in an order for another set of drinks, including one of the Flaming Cocktails, the Tropical Whipped Bikini. This beverage had sugar cubes on top torched by our server.
Once we had warmed up in the Fire Lounge, we decided to finally go into the ICEBAR. We were given a jacket, gloves, and a coat with a leopard design, making it extra chic. We discovered just how true to the name it was, as it was literally a bar made of ice. In fact, pretty much everything but the floor was made out of ice. It was quite cold, hence why we needed the jacket.
The attendant at the door of the ICEBAR also took our picture inside. This was complimentary, and we were able to download the photo digitally to our phones later.
There we chatted with the bartender Kaitlyn, who also did a good job of talking with us while also making the drinks. There we tried the Prickly Pear and Drunken Banana. They were both refreshing. We were told the banana drink would taste just like banana Laffy Taffy, and we can confirm it did.
After a few trips between the lounge and bar, we decided it was time to go home. We definitely left with satiated appetites and couldn’t help but remark how “cool” we found the idea of the ICEBAR to be.
The “Red, White & Chill” menu will be available until Labor Day on September 7. Guests 8-20 years old are welcome between 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., and guests 21 years or older are welcome at all times. Entry into the Fire Lounge is always free, while standard ICEBAR entry is $21 at the door or $15 in advance online.
