Seminole County Fire Department received the highest recognition awarded to emergency communication centers from the International Academics of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).

SCFD Emergency Communications Center has been awarded Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) for its dispatch answering 98% of on average 350 calls a day within ten seconds or less in 2025 according to a SCFD press release.

Only 65 fire departments in the nation have been ACE accredited. The accreditation is bestowed upon departments that convey excellent performance, have a strong organization and are ambitious to continue improving.

The department’s Emergency Communications Center is made up of 39 highly trained dispatchers who devote their time to serve those in need of help with an accurate and prompt manner.

“Our team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest level of professionalism, precision and compassion,” said Keri Troyano, SCFD Program Manager for Emergency Communications, in a press release from SCFD. “The ACE accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone in our Communications Center.”

The accreditation now makes SCFD the only fire department in the state to concurrently hold four notable accreditations: ISO 1 classification, International Fire Accreditation, Commission of Accreditation of Ambulance (CAAS) and now the ACE accreditation.
