The City of Orlando has officially released detailed renderings and proposed features for a $400 million renovation of Camping World Stadium, marking a major investment in the future of the downtown venue.
The significant upgrade aims to enhance the stadium’s ability to attract premier entertainment and sporting events, further solidifying Orlando’s position as a major event destination. The project will be funded through tourism development taxes and is designed to help the city remain competitive with nearby markets like Tampa.
Camping World Stadium, already a host to top-tier football matchups and concerts, is slated to receive a larger upper bowl with individual seats replacing the current metal benches. Additional improvements include a reconfigured layout to better accommodate concerts, new event spaces, a sleek new exterior with hurricane-resistant bracing, and the possibility of a new stadium name.
Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan praised the renovation’s potential, noting that the updated venue could attract global events like the FIFA World Cup and serve as a temporary home for the Jacksonville Jaguars during their own stadium reconstruction in 2027.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2026 with a projected completion date of August 2027.
With these enhancements, Orlando aims to bolster tourism, increase economic impact, and maintain its reputation as a premier location for world-class events.
