On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Powerball lottery jackpot climbed to an estimated $1.1 billion prize pool after no ticket matched all six numbers in the drawing. The next drawing scheduled is for Monday, Dec. 15.
Saturday’s drawing produced no grand prize winner, despite the jackpot reaching about $1 billion, one of the largest in the game’s history. The winning numbers drawn were 1, 28, 31, 57, 58, with Powerball 16 and a 2X Power Play option.
Still, several players walked away with significant prizes. Two tickets sold in North Carolina and Pennsylvania matched five numbers plus the Powerball with the Power Play and won $2 million each. While multiple players in California, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, and Virginia won $1 million prizes by matching five numbers.
In Connecticut and other states, thousands of lower-tier prize winners also claimed smaller amounts, demonstrating that even in a rollover night, players still scored winnings.
The jackpot now ranks among the largest Powerball prizes ever offered, trailing only a few historic jackpots, including a $1.787 billion prize won in September 2025.
Powerball drawings occur on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday of every week, with tickets typically costing $2. Lottery officials expect even higher participation leading up to the next drawing as the jackpot continues to grow.
Tickets can be purchased until 10:55 p.m. EST on the night of the draw. Tickets purchased after 10:55 p.m. will be for the next draw.
As excitement builds, lottery officials remind players to check their tickets carefully and play responsibly. Again, the next drawing on Monday, Dec. 15, will offer one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated chances to become an instant billionaire
