Families looking for a way to beat the Florida heat this summer will have even more opportunities to enjoy cooler mornings at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens.
Starting June 1, the Zoo will begin operating under new summer hours, opening daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The updated schedule is designed to give guests a chance to explore the Zoo during the cooler parts of the day while enjoying many of its popular attractions and animal experiences.
Visitors can stroll shaded boardwalks, discover animal habitats, cool off at the splash pad, and explore the Zoo’s botanical gardens during the morning hours. Indoor attractions, including the herpetarium and virtual reality experience, also provide air-conditioned options for guests looking to escape the summer sun.
“Summer mornings at the Zoo are a great way to create memorable experiences while staying comfortable during the summer months,” said CEO Richard Glover, in a press release. “We want our guests to be able to make the most of their visit while enjoying cooler temperatures and seeing the animals during some of their most active times of the day.”
The Zoo is encouraging guests to plan ahead, stay hydrated, and take advantage of the earlier opening time throughout the summer season.
Located in Sanford, the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens has more than 350 animals and serves as both a family-friendly attraction and a conservation-focused nonprofit organization. Accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, the Zoo works to inspire guests to take action for wildlife conservation through educational programs and up-close animal experiences.
