A new resort is coming to one of Florida’s quieter coastal destinations.
Serenity Seaside Resort is developing a 55-acre resort and residential community along Apalachicola Bay in Eastpoint, bringing a boutique hotel, cottages, restaurants, wellness amenities, and luxury homes to Florida’s Forgotten Coast.
The project is currently under construction after a five-year entitlement process and is expected to create more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in Franklin County.
What’s Coming to the Resort
The development will feature a 100-room independent boutique hotel along with 28 two-bedroom cottages and 16 luxury homes available for private purchase.
Guests will also have access to a signature restaurant and bar, spa and fitness facility, swimming pool and beach club. A waterfront chapel, event lawn and separate lakeside event facility will provide space for weddings, private celebrations and other gatherings.
The resort is being designed around a spring-fed lake, with the developers emphasizing a low-density layout that incorporates the property’s wetlands and natural surroundings.
That approach reflects the character of the Forgotten Coast, a region known for its protected lands, beaches, and smaller coastal communities.
A Focus on Wellness and Nature
Wellness is a central part of the resort’s design, extending beyond the planned spa and fitness facility. The property will feature spaces intended for relaxation, including the beach club, pool, and waterfront gathering areas.
Interiors will incorporate natural materials such as bleached oak, cane, marble and brass.
According to Serenity Seaside Resort, the development was created specifically for the Northwest Florida coastline rather than modeled after an existing hotel brand.
“We didn’t want to build just another resort. We wanted to build something that felt like it belonged here: slow, quiet, and shaped by the land itself,” said Craig Dermody, general partner of Serenity Seaside Resort.
When Will Serenity Seaside Resort Open?
Site work is already underway, with Cardella Construction Company serving as the lead contractor. The company is also involved in the North Terminal Expansion Project at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.
Serenity Seaside Resort expects the hotel, restaurant, bar, spa, pool, and beach club to open approximately 18 to 24 months after groundbreaking. The cottages and event venues are expected to follow, although exact opening dates have not yet been announced.
The 16 planned luxury homes will be released separately. Pricing, lot sizes, and the timing of the first home release are still being finalized.
