BermudAir has officially launched service from Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), giving Central Florida travelers another option for flights to Bermuda. The airline’s first flight departed Sanford on Oct. 31, marking its move from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to SFB.
The inaugural aircraft received a water cannon salute from the airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting team before airport and airline representatives, local officials and community members gathered to celebrate the launch. The event included live steel drum music, commemorative gifts for passengers and remarks from airport and airline leadership.
The move also brings additional international service to Sanford. BermudAir plans to begin flights to Belize on Dec. 21, expanding its Central Florida destinations beyond Bermuda.
BermudAir Flight Schedule from Sanford
BermudAir will initially operate weekly flights between Orlando Sanford International Airport and Bermuda, with plans to increase the service to twice weekly beginning Oct. 31, according to the airline’s announcement.
Belize service is scheduled to begin Dec. 21, initially with weekly flights before increasing to twice-weekly operations. BermudAir says it will be the only airline offering nonstop service to Belize from Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg/Tampa.
All flights will use Embraer E190 aircraft.
What Travelers Can Expect Onboard
BermudAir describes its service as a boutique island travel experience. Its two-class cabin features no middle seats, additional legroom, complimentary premium snacks and beverages, and an emphasis on hospitality.
The airline began commercial operations in 2023. According to BermudAir, it has supported more than 1,100 jobs and generated approximately $149 million in annual economic impact in Bermuda since launching.
Sanford Airport Continues to Expand Airline Service
BermudAir’s arrival is part of a broader expansion at Orlando Sanford International Airport. The airport said the airline marks the fourth new air carrier announced at SFB within the past 12 months.
Airport President and CEO Nicole Martz welcomed the addition, noting that the new service creates more travel opportunities between Bermuda and Central Florida while strengthening Sanford’s role as a regional gateway.
BermudAir Founder and CEO Adam Scott said the move to Sanford is intended to provide passengers with an airport that is easier to navigate, with a simpler travel experience.
The inaugural celebration also included Sanford Airport Authority Board Chair Kenneth Bentley, Sanford Mayor Art Woodruff, and Mayor-Elect Christina Hollerbach.
