What to Expect From SeaWorld’s Viva la Musica

On select Saturdays from now through May 14, SeaWorld Orlando will come alive with a Latin flair at its annual Viva la Musica celebration. Foodies will be able to savor a huge variety of authentic Latin cuisine and music lovers will be inspired by the sounds of popular Hispanic artists and bands.

Along the event pathway near Bayside Stadium guests will find returning food favorites like pinchos, or skewered grilled meat served with fried plantains; piraguas, or shaved ice with tropical flavors; and tripletas, a sandwich loaded with roast pork, chicken and steak then topped with potato sticks and special sauce. SeaWorld’s Executive Chef Hector Colon has added some new dishes to the party menu this year too. His new signature creations include:

Piononos – sweet plantain stuffed with traditional seasoned ground beef
Morcilla – traditional Latin American blood sausage
Sorullitos – Caribbean-style fried polenta sticks
Frituras de camarones – skewered shrimp fritters with fried plantains
Lecon asado – traditional roaster pork rubbed with Caribbean spices

A food sampler package is available for $25. It comes with a selection of five food samples, and guests who purchase the package will also receive 15 percent off all food and drink purchases on the event pathway.

Viva la Musica also features concerts from international superstars of reggaeton, salsa, merengue and more beginning at 3 p.m. at Bayside Stadium. On April 23, Latin Grammy winner Victor Manuelle will take the stage, and artists for the May 7 and May 14 Viva la Musica celebrations will be announced in the coming weeks. Families are able to enjoy the concerts from the event’s Jardin. A more relaxing environment with seating and Domino tables, the Viva la Musica garden is just steps away from the main fiesta area.
