Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) has made a $35,000 donation to the American Red Cross to aid in disaster relief and recovery efforts across local communities and regions recently impacted by severe weather events, including the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
“At Space Coast Credit Union, our mission goes beyond financial services. It’s about people helping people,” Shane Hoyle, President and CEO of Space Coast Credit Union said in a press release. “The American Red Cross plays an invaluable role in providing aid and care when people need it most, and we’re honored to contribute to their lifesaving mission. This donation reflects our shared commitment to helping people in their greatest time of need and reminds us that when we come together, we create stronger, more resilient communities.”
Each year, SCCU donates $25,000 to the American Red Cross as part of its long-standing partnership and commitment to community support. In response to the widespread destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa, the credit union increased this year’s contribution by an additional $10,000 to help provide essential relief to those most affected.
This donation underscores SCCU’s dedication to serving the broader community—not only through trusted financial services but also through humanitarian action in times of crisis. The funds will assist the American Red Cross in delivering vital resources such as food, shelter, and emergency supplies to families rebuilding after natural disasters, including those devastated by Hurricane Melissa’s impact last month.
As Space Coast Credit Union continues to grow its presence throughout Florida, its focus on strengthening communities remains a guiding priority. Grounded in compassion and service, SCCU continues to uphold its mission of giving back and standing beside the people it serves when they need it most.
