Farewell to the Winter Park Community

This is a personal farewell from me this month. After seven years at the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce (WPCC), I am leaving to become the president and CEO of Business High Point Inc., the merged entity of the High Point Chamber of Commerce and High Point Partners in High Point, North Carolina.

The move is a wonderful opportunity for me professionally and for my family, but that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier. It has been a privilege to be part of the WPCC. I have been fortunate to work with countless members and volunteers who have become important friends and mentors to me.

I’m proud of our collective efforts in improving the business environment and quality of life in Winter Park. Leadership Winter Park and Youth Leaders continue to create future leaders and community stewards. We produce great events while generating civic pride and a feeling of community. I am most proud of how the board, volunteers, members, residents, staff and partners rallied together over the last three years to support Second Harvest Food Bank through our Feed the Need initiative. Our combined effort to raise over $300,000 is an outstanding testament of how inspired, caring people can do great things.

My chamber family and Winter Park have watched my daughter grow up and supported me when I donated a kidney. The fondest personal memory, from years of highlights, is the support the community has shown for my niece and www.theblairbanner.org. I am so grateful and thankful for my time at WPCC!
