Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month is bringing a celebration of music, culture and family to Walt Disney World Resort, with special experiences taking place throughout the property through Oct. 15.
The resort’s Together We Are Magia celebration runs from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, with live Latin music, Disney characters, entertainment, family activities and new merchandise inspired by Coco.
This year’s celebration also features a special guest: Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, who recently visited Walt Disney World to experience some of the festivities himself.
Luis Fonsi Experiences the Celebration
Fonsi got a firsthand look at the resort’s Hispanic and Latin American offerings during his recent visit, including ¡Celebración Encanto! at EPCOT.
The experience features Mirabel and Bruno from Disney’s Encanto, along with Storytellers and Primos who bring the celebration to life through music and dance.
Fonsi also made time for a couple of his Disney favorites, riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and meeting Mickey Mouse.
For Fonsi, the celebration is also a chance to highlight his Puerto Rican heritage and the connection that music and family can create across cultures.
“It’s an honor to be part of this celebration and to share all the magia that happens when we come together as one,” Fonsi said. “As a Puerto Rican, I’m incredibly proud of my roots and of the opportunity to celebrate our culture with families from around the world.”
Live Latin Music Takes Over EPCOT
Music is a major part of the month-long celebration, with several Hispanic and Latin American performers scheduled as part of EPCOT’s Eat to the Beat Concert Series.
Guests can catch:
- Latin Ambition: Sept. 15–17
- Grupo Mania: Sept. 20–21
- Metro Latino Band: Sept. 22–24
- Rey Ruiz: Oct. 5–6
- Viva Latina: Oct. 9–11
The performances add live Latin music to the EPCOT experience while giving guests an opportunity to hear artists representing different sounds and styles.
The celebration extends beyond EPCOT, with familiar Disney characters taking part in special entertainment at Magic Kingdom.
The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade features Mirabel from Encanto and Miguel from Disney and Pixar’s Coco, along with Princess Elena of Avalor, José Carioca and Panchito.
Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels can also find additional opportunities to celebrate, including storytelling, music and dance experiences and select Hispanic and Latin American-inspired films during Movies Under the Stars.
A New Coco Collection Arrives
The celebration also brings new Disney merchandise inspired by Coco, which centers on family, music and tradition.
The collection includes a Miguel mug featuring his guitar and colorful Día de Muertos-inspired details. Other pieces include a women’s T-shirt with embroidered florals, a guitar, calavera, and alebrije designs, as well as a colorful alebrije headband inspired by the film’s fantastical spirit guides.
Select merchandise is also available as a mug and headband set.
With live performances, Disney characters, family activities, and Coco-inspired merchandise, Walt Disney World is bringing its Together We Are Magia celebration to several parts of the resort throughout Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month.
The celebration runs through Oct. 15. Experiences and offerings are subject to change and may only be available for a limited time.
