Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed that the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster will close permanently on August 18, marking the end of an era for one of the park’s most recognizable attractions.
The high-speed coaster, known for combining music and thrills, has been a guest favorite since its debut. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit stands out for offering riders the chance to select a personal soundtrack before embarking on its signature 90-degree vertical ascent. That climb is quickly followed by a dramatic drop and a series of intense twists and turns, reaching speeds of up to 65 miles per hour.
Universal Orlando stated that the closure will allow for “new developments” within the park, though specific details about future attractions have not been announced. Fans of the ride still have a few weeks left to experience its adrenaline-charged journey before it takes its final run.
The retirement of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit adds to a growing list of changes at the resort as Universal continues to refresh its offerings ahead of upcoming expansions.
