Disney Cruise Line is preparing to launch a bold new chapter in family cruising with the debut of its newest ship, the Disney Destiny. Home-ported in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the ship will set sail on its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025. It will offer four- and five-night itineraries to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean, including stops at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney’s private island destinations.
Disney Destiny is the fleet’s seventh ship and introduces an entirely new concept built around a “Heroes & Villains” theme. Every element on board draws inspiration from some of Disney’s most iconic stories, blending the worlds of light and dark in one immersive environment. According to Disney Cruise Line, this theme “celebrates the balance between good and evil in unforgettable settings designed to inspire adventure and imagination.”
Guests stepping into the ship’s Grand Hall will find themselves transported to the world of Black Panther and Wakanda, surrounded by gold and purple design elements that echo the spirit of Marvel’s legendary hero.
Throughout the ship, lounges and dining spaces pay homage to fan-favorite characters, including one inspired by Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum and another by Cruella De Vil’s daring fashion sense. Each venue is carefully designed to bring the magic of Disney storytelling to life, whether you’re ordering a themed cocktail or enjoying live entertainment.
A major highlight of the new ship is the exclusive Broadway-style musical “Disney Hercules,” featuring show-stopping numbers and a spectacular Hydra battle sequence that pushes the boundaries of at-sea stage design. For families, the Destiny includes interactive kids’ clubs, character experiences, and activities themed to both heroes and villains, while adults can enjoy dedicated lounges, upscale dining, and serene pool areas.
The Disney Destiny also offers a variety of staterooms and family suites designed for comfort and flexibility, continuing Disney Cruise Line’s tradition of thoughtful details and high-end design. From spacious family cabins to luxurious suites, the ship combines practicality with storytelling flair; every corridor and cabin contributes to the overall theme.
Beyond its design, the Destiny represents a key part of Disney’s broader push into experience-driven travel. As the company continues to invest in its cruise division, this new ship underscores a strategy to deliver the storytelling magic of its theme parks in new, immersive settings around the world.
For fans of Disney, Marvel, and imaginative travel, the Disney Destiny promises a seagoing adventure unlike any other. It is a place where heroes and villains share the same deck, and where every voyage is another story waiting to be told.
