A spooky season favorite in Central Florida is taking on a charitable twist this month. Seminole Science Charter School (SSCS) is teaming up with A Petrified Forest, the long-running haunted scare trail, to host a Kids Day fundraiser benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at A Petrified Forest, located at 1360 E. Altamonte Dr., Altamonte Springs.

A Morning of Family Fun for a Cause

Unlike the usual fright-filled evenings the attraction is known for, this special morning event is designed for families and young children. For just $5 per ticket, guests can enjoy a safe, kid-friendly experience featuring:

  • Trick-or-treating with thousands of pieces of candy donated by SSCS students and staff

  • Games and activities in costume

  • Local food trucks

  • A chance to explore the decorated trail in daylight

SSCS has already donated more than 24,000 pieces of candy for the celebration, ensuring plenty of treats for families who attend.

Supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation

All ticket proceeds from Kids Day will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses. Last year’s event raised over $7,000, helping make dreams come true for children in need.

Organizers hope to surpass that total this year by bringing the community together for a fun, family-centered morning that blends Halloween excitement with charitable giving.
