Out of the Darkness Walk Returns to Baldwin Park This February Bringing Awareness to suicide prevention

The Out of the Darkness Walk is making its return to Baldwin Park at the beginning of February for its 18th consecutive year, bringing the community together to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. Organized by the local chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), this event is one of hundreds held nationwide to address the stigma surrounding mental health challenges and to support life-saving initiatives.

A Walk for a Cause

The 2-plus-mile walk around scenic Lake Baldwin serves as both a fundraiser and an opportunity to unite individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the fight against suicide. As of now, the walk has raised an impressive $64,250 toward its ambitious $200,000 goal. All funds go toward AFSP’s vital work, which includes groundbreaking research, advocacy efforts, and support programs aimed at promoting mental health and preventing suicide.
