City of Orlando seeking artists for mural capturing the city’s culture

The City of Orlando took to their social media accounts on Tuesday, announcing a “call for artists” to create a mural in Haralson Estates.

“Calling all artists! Help us welcome travelers to The City Beautiful with a bold new mural that celebrates Orlando’s landmarks, culture, and diversity,” The City of Orlando wrote on their Instagram.

The project’s vision, as listed on the application site for mural, mentions incorporating “Orlando’s iconic destinations” like the theme parks, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Kia Center, and Lake Eola. As well, scenes of community and outdoor life are sought after.

Applications are due by July 6 at 11:59 pm. More information can be found here.
