Spring festival season in Central Florida arrives in full color March 27 – 29 as the 13th Annual Uptown Art Expo transforms Cranes Roost Park into a lakeside celebration of art, music, and community in Altamonte Springs.
The free three-day event will blend gallery-worthy artwork with tribute concerts and open-air dining. What began more than a decade ago has evolved into one of the region’s signature spring traditions, drawing families, collectors, and music lovers to Uptown Altamonte for a weekend that feels equal parts art walk and block party.
More than 140 artists and fine craft exhibitors will line the walkways around Cranes Roost Lake, showcasing everything from hand-blown glass and statement jewelry to large-scale paintings, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. Shoppers can meet the artists, hear the stories behind the work, and purchase pieces directly, making it as much a cultural experience as a retail one.
One of the most photographed features of the weekend is the Chalk Street Art Experience. Professional chalk artists alongside talented high school students will transform stretches of sidewalk into larger-than-life murals. Guests are invited to cast their vote in the “People’s Choice Chalk Awards” by dropping a gold coin into a bucket beside their favorite piece, adding an interactive touch for the crowd.
A Night Under the Stars
As the sun sets, the park shifts from an art stroll to a concert venue.
Friday night’s Kick-Off Rock Concert from 6:30 – 10 p.m. will bring energy to the waterfront with Completely Unchained, the Ultimate Van Halen Tribute, followed by Knightsnake, a Whitesnake tribute band delivering classic ’80s rock favorites.
Saturday at 6 p.m., nostalgia continues with The Broken Hearts, celebrating the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Rockit Fly, a Journey tribute band that is sure to have the crowd singing along. Free limited seating is available, while VIP reserved seating at the front of the stage can be secured in advance for $20.
Sunday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. offers a more relaxed vibe with acoustic favorites from The Smoking Jackets Trio and Latin rock from the Ultimate Santana Tribute Band, creating a soundtrack for the leisurely lakeside afternoon.
Beyond the art and music, the Uptown Art Expo will also offer international street cuisine and a designated Food Truck Zone. Craft beer and wine will also be available throughout the weekend.
“What started years ago has grown into an incredible weekend of original art, chalk street paintings, live music and family-friendly fun,” said event organizer Jim Barton. “We’re proud of how the Expo has evolved and can’t wait to welcome everyone this March.”
Sponsored by AdventHealth and WOW! fiber Internet, the Uptown Art Expo positions itself as an accessible cultural event in Central Florida. The festival will take place March 27 – 29, at Cranes Roost Park, with free admission and parking in the Altamonte Mall lots. The event is rain or shine; coolers and pets are not permitted.
