The YMCA of Central Florida is celebrating fitness and family time during its second annual Healthy Family Day on Saturday, August 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all 14 of their Family Centers.

The free event offers Central Florida families the chance to attend wellness workshops, take part in games, and learn more about what the YMCA has to offer, such as its upcoming sports leagues.

“We look forward to once again hosting Healthy Family Day to inspire parents and kids to include healthy activities together as part of their back-to-school routine,” Kevin Bolding, president and CEO of the YMCA of Central Florida, said in a press release. “This free event is another way the Y is helping to build a stronger, healthier, community for all.”

At the event, the organization will also introduce a new name for its Child Development program, called “The Play Center.” This drop-off childcare program allows YMCA members to enjoy a whole-family wellness approach, where parents can complete their workout without worrying about their little ones.

“We’re excited to launch a new name for our drop-in childcare that does more than just supervise — it sparks imagination, builds connections, and supports whole-child development through the power of play,” Michelle Foley, district vice president of youth development-early learning at the YMCA of Central Florida said. “At The Play Center, every moment is an opportunity to learn, explore, and grow in a safe and joyful environment.”
