Florida Blue Foundation is providing financial support to three nonprofit organizations helping Northwest Florida communities recover from Hurricane Isaias.
Announced Oct. 20, the donations will support United Way of West Florida, United Way Emerald Coast and Volunteer Florida as they address immediate community needs and assist with longer-term recovery following the storm.
The Florida Blue Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Florida Blue and part of the GuideWell family of companies, is directing resources toward organizations working with affected residents and communities.
“Helping communities restore their health, safety, and well-being through disaster relief reinforces our deep commitment to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives,” said Susan Towler, vice president of corporate social responsibility and Florida Blue Foundation.
Towler said partnerships with established relief organizations help connect communities with resources and support as they recover.
Donations Support Local Recovery and Community Needs
The contributions are intended to help address critical needs throughout Northwest Florida as residents work to recover from the storm and rebuild their communities.
Florida Blue said its commitment also extends to continued annual support for the American Red Cross, which assists with disaster response and efforts to strengthen community resilience.
The foundation’s latest donations build on Florida Blue’s history of supporting communities affected by natural disasters and other emergencies. Through partnerships with relief organizations, the company helps support first responders, frontline workers, and groups providing assistance to affected residents.
“Our Northwest Florida neighbors, including our own employees and members, have faced real hardship in the wake of Hurricane Isaias,” said Hong Potomski, Northwest Florida market president for Florida Blue. “Florida Blue is committed to standing with our resilient community every step of the way as it recovers and rebuilds, supporting the health and well-being of the people we’re proud to serve.”
