YMCA of Central Florida Partners with Dr. B to Make Fitness More Affordable

The YMCA of Central Florida announced its partnership with Dr. B, an online telehealth service, to make whole-body health more accessible and affordable on Thursday.

Through teaming up, YMCA members with a health insurance plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Savings Account (FSA) could be eligible to use their pre-tax dollars towards their membership and training fees.

YMCA members will receive an online letter of medical necessity consultation for $15 from Dr. B at any time without an appointment. The letter of medical necessity is valid for a year and can be used towards fitness expenses, personal training, and additional YMCA-based health programs.

If approved, members can submit their YMCA membership fees for reimbursement through their HSA or FSA accounts.

“At the Y, we strive to remove all barriers to access the life-changing benefits of our healthy activities and programs,” Kevin Bolding, president and CEO of the YMCA of Central Florida, said in a press release. “By partnering with Dr. B, we are providing a new way for neighbors in need of our preventative health care services to invest in their well-being.”

Members are not required to use Dr. B for their letter of necessity.
