Lake Nona Wave Hotel has just unveiled its summer pop-up experience, The Palm Club, inspired by Florida’s 1960’s golden age. Every year, Shen Yun unveils an entirely new lineup of dances, musical scores, and songs. At the core of Shen Yun’s performances is a series of short dance numbers, each about five-minutes long. These range in style from classical Chinese dance and story-based dance to China’s diverse ethnic and folk dance forms. In a collection of short pieces, the audience travels from legends of the culture’s creation eons ago to stories of compassion and courage in China today; from snowy mountaintops to vast, boundless grasslands; and from celestial palaces in the highest heavens down to the dusty plateaus of the Middle Kingdom. Large animated backdrops, projected behind the dancers, extend the stage and transport the audience to another world. These grand images are dynamic and involve unique interaction with stage—a patented innovation that has inspired Hollywood and catches seasoned theatergoers by surprise.
The Shen Yun Orchestra accompanies every dance performance, masterfully blending two of the world’s greatest classical music traditions. Ancient Chinese instruments lead the melody on top of a full Western orchestra, creating an enchanting new sound. Shen Yun’s vocalists, renowned for their ability to sing bel canto style in Chinese, perform piano-accompanied solos. Another regular favorite is the solo performance on the two-stringed erhu, with its stirring notes reminiscent of the human voice. Throughout the performance, dancers are adorned by hundreds of exquisitely handcrafted costumes whose origins span China’s dynasties, regions, and ethnic groups. Each piece is briefly presented by two bilingual emcees, who guide the audience through this foreign journey and add insight and a touch of humor to the Shen Yun experience.

The Silver Spurs Rodeo is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a year-long celebration honoring its enduring legacy and deep roots in Osceola County. Since the first chute opened on July 4, 1944, the Silver Spurs Rodeo has become an iconic event, symbolizing the hardworking ranchers of Florida and the close-knit fabric of its fans and founding members.
The Silver Spurs Rodeo’s history is intertwined with that of Osceola County, preserving the region’s traditions of rodeo, ranching, and citrus production. Beyond entertainment, the Silver Spurs Riding Club has continually given back to the community, contributing nearly $100,000 to non-profits since 2020 alone.
The 153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo presents dirt-pounding action this summer for two evening rodeos. Fans will be treated to seven traditional rodeo events: bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, women’s barrel racing, steer wrestling, and team roping. Unique to the June rodeo performances, there is junior barrel racing, junior bull riding, and a special appearance by the Junior Silver Spurs Quadrille, which will feature teenagers performing a square dance on horseback at the Silver Spurs Arena. Plus, one of rodeo fan’s favorite events, mutton bustin’ (also known as sheep racing), returns to the arena in between the rodeo action
“The Silver Spurs Rodeo will be celebrating 80 years this July, and it’s all thanks to our volunteers, fans, and the whole community. They are the heart and soul of the Silver Spurs Rodeo. This 80th anniversary is all about celebrating them. We’re pulling out all the stops to make the events this year unforgettable, bringing you the best of rodeo, celebrating where we’ve been, and getting excited about where we’re headed,” said Sara Berlinsky, Big Boss of the Silver Spurs Riding Club. “The 153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo will kick off the summer and will introduce the traditional rodeo events that our guests are used to seeing, but also the 153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo will highlight our youth who will kick off summer break during the performance in front of a live crowd.”
At the 153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo, the Silver Spurs Riding Club will donate to the Boy & Girls Club of St. Cloud and Safety First PediAquatics. Donations to further support the Silver Spurs Riding Club’s community efforts are being accepted online.

When they visited the camp last year, Sean Creech Motorsport (SCM) hoped to jump start the sports car world’s attention back toward Camp Boggy Creek, a Eustis, Fla.-based stay camp started by Paul Newman and General Norman Schwartzkopf for children with serious medical illnesses.
Since the camp opened in 1996, they have hosted nearly 100,000 campers and family members, giving kids the chance to experience life alongside others who are dealing with the same situations – allowing them to be just regular kids for a week. The camp relies upon donors and sponsors, keeping the camp free for families.
On June 13, the SCM team will once again bring its pair of Ligier sports cars to the camp, entertaining the kids and handing out hats. It’s our chance to give the kids just one more thing to look forward to.
