Science Night Live Returns to Orlando Science Center with Comedy, Music, and Hands-On Fun

The Orlando Science Center is closing out the summer season on August 23 with Science Night Live: Summer Send-Off, an adults-only evening filled with comedy, music, science, and interactive experiences. Designed exclusively for guests ages 18 and up, this event combines entertainment and education in a lively atmosphere where curiosity and creativity collide.

With tickets priced at just $20—and typically selling out in advance—attendees are encouraged to secure their spots early. Orlando Science Center Members receive a $3 discount with advance purchase.

A Night of Science, Laughter, and Exploration

Science Night Live gives adults the opportunity to enjoy everything the Science Center offers—without the kids. Guests can explore exhibits, participate in hands-on experiments, meet fascinating guest speakers, and enjoy live performances throughout the evening.

Highlights include:

  • Signature cocktails and mocktails crafted for the occasion.

  • Explore LEGO creations and movie-inspired props.

  • Browse works from Central Florida’s creative community.

  • Meet creatures from the Ocean and Swamp exhibits.

Featured Performances & Guest Speakers

Science Comedy with Kasha Patel – Digital Adventure Theater, Level 2

Comedian Kasha Patel, named one of the “Best Undiscovered Comedians” in the U.S. by Thrillist, will headline three science-themed comedy shows. Known for blending her Indian-American identity with her passion for science, Patel brings humor with a smart twist. Her work has been featured on NPR, BBC World, The Science Channel, and NASA TV, and she continues to bridge science and comedy through her company, DC Science Comedy.

Science Improv with The Corner Gallery – Founders Room, Level 3

Orlando’s award-winning improv troupe The Corner Gallery will host two science-inspired performances. With their quick wit and audience engagement, they’ll transform scientific ideas into spontaneous comedy in a way that’s both entertaining and educational.

Live Music with Beemo – DinoDigs, Level 4

The Orlando-based rock band Beemo will perform in the DinoDigs exhibit. Known for their eclectic blend of indie rock, Americana, Celtic folk, and bluegrass, Beemo delivers energetic performances filled with harmonies, storytelling, and genre-spanning covers.

Space Talks with Florida Space Institute – Discovery Stage, Level 4

Two leading researchers from the Florida Space Institute will share cutting-edge insights into space exploration:

  • 9:00 p.m. – Dr. Sean Marshall: Radar Observations of Near-Earth Asteroids

  • 10:00 p.m. – Dr. Philip Metzger: Robots on the Moon! – a look at new programs inviting citizen participation in lunar exploration.

Science Trivia with Nerd Nite Orlando – 4Roots Café, Level 1

Science fans can put their knowledge to the test in trivia sessions hosted by Nerd Nite Orlando. Seating is limited and first come, first served.

Science Night Live takes place Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 8:00–11:30 p.m. at the Orlando Science Center. Tickets are $20, with a $3 discount available for members. Availability is limited, and tickets often sell out in advance.
