Orlando Family Stage is bringing the beloved Pixar Story to life with a song-filled production of Finding Nemo: A 60-Minute Family Musical, running from April 11 through May 10. As part of the theatre’s Centennial Celebration season, this colorful adaptation promises a memorable outing for audiences of all ages.

Set beneath the waves, this reimagined stage production transforms the iconic film into a theatrical experience. With more than 30 intricately designed puppets, imaginative staging, and original music by award-winning duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the show brings the ocean to life. The Lopezes are known for their work on Frozen and Coco

Marlin, an overprotective clownfish, navigates the vast and often unpredictable ocean in search of his son, Nemo. Along the way, he encounters a host of unforgettable characters like the optimistic Dory and the laid-back sea turtle Crush. It’s a story that teaches lessons about courage, trust, and letting go.

“This is a story that resonates deeply with families,” said Artistic Director Jeff Revels in a press release. “Perhaps a young person in the audience will see just how much a parent cares for their well-being, and perhaps a parent will recognize the importance of letting a child explore the world. It is a beautiful journey of growth, compromise, and love–and it is also just a lot of fun.”

Director Eric Gelb highlights the production’s powerful themes of inclusive storytelling. The show emphasizes persistence, community, and individuality, encouraging audiences to “just keep swimming” through life’s challenges while celebrating what makes each person unique.
