The City of Tampa is planning a new 56-acre park in the K-Bar Ranch area of New Tampa, with proposed recreational amenities including athletic fields, walking trails, picnic facilities, and children’s play areas. Residents will have an opportunity to share ideas for the park’s design during a community meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15.
The project is intended to expand recreational opportunities while preserving the area’s natural surroundings. According to the city, 10,300 saplings have been planted at the site over the past year as part of efforts to enhance the landscape.
City Councilman Luis Viera described the proposed park as a long-term investment in the community and encouraged residents to participate in the planning process.

The meeting will be led by Viera, Tampa Parks & Recreation Director Ted Fowler, and members of the Skanska project team. Community input is expected to help inform the park’s development and the amenities considered for the site.
City officials also plan to provide additional opportunities for residents to participate as planning continues.
