Sunrail Trains Cancelled following Fatal Motorcycle Crash

A 20-year-old man died Tuesday after being struck by a SunRail train in Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident occurred at approximately 12:38 p.m. near the intersection of Wetherbee Road and Orange Avenue. Authorities said the man was on a Honda motorcycle that was stopped on the tracks when it was struck by a southbound SunRail train. The motorcycle caught fire, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

Following the collision, SunRail announced the cancellation of trains P319 southbound, P320 northbound, and P328 northbound. A bus bridge was established between the Sand Lake Road and Poinciana stations to transport passengers while the investigation was underway.

There were no reported injuries among the 58 passengers and three crew members on board the train, including the conductor.

The circumstances that led to the motorcycle being on the tracks are under investigation. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
