Supporting the Widowed Community in Central Florida

Imagine the drastic shift from being a soccer mom and wife to becoming a widow overnight at the age of 35. This heart-wrenching reality is the inspiration behind the Modern Widows Club, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the needs of widows—a severely underserved and often overlooked population that has been growing, especially in the wake of the pandemic.

Widows’ Health & Wellbeing Day Event Details

On June 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Center for Health & Wellbeing in Winter Park will host Widows’ Health & Wellbeing Day, a comprehensive symposium aimed at providing holistic wellness support to over 120 widows. The event will feature workshops and resources tailored to the unique challenges faced by widows, offering them essential support and guidance.

Carolyn Moor: Advocate for Widows

Carolyn Moor, the founder of the Modern Widows Club, will be a key speaker at the event. As a passionate advocate for widow support, Carolyn Moor’s insights are invaluable. Her dedication to this cause has made her a beacon of hope for many widows navigating life after loss. With International Day of the Widow approaching on June 23, Carolyn Moor’s perspective is both timely and essential.
