Southwest Airlines has unveiled an expanded flight schedule through June 3, 2026, featuring new international service, a fresh airline partnership, and additional domestic routes. Among the updates are new options for travelers flying to and from Florida, further positioning the state as a central hub in the airline’s growing network.

St. Maarten Added as New Caribbean Destination from Orlando

Beginning April 7, 2026, Southwest Airlines will launch service to Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Maarten, marking its first new international destination since 2021. The carrier will operate a daily roundtrip flight between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and St. Maarten, offering travelers a direct connection to one of the Caribbean’s most popular islands.

Two days later, on April 9, 2026, Southwest will add weekend nonstop service between St. Maarten and Baltimore/Washington (BWI), expanding U.S. connections to the island. The Orlando and Baltimore routes will allow passengers access to more than 45 connecting airports across the United States.

St. Maarten, known for its dual cultural heritage with Dutch and French sides, is expected to be a popular addition for travelers seeking tropical getaways.

New Domestic Route Linking Chicago and Florida

Southwest also announced a seasonal route connecting Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) in Panama City, Florida. The service begins April 9, 2026, with flights scheduled on Saturdays.

This new offering expands travel options between the Midwest and Florida’s Gulf Coast, a region well-known for its beaches and vacation destinations.

Additional Updates to Southwest’s Network

Alongside the Florida-focused expansions, Southwest revealed a new airline partnership and additional domestic routes:

  • Partnership with EVA Air – Southwest has partnered with Taiwan-based EVA Air, enabling interline journeys between North America and Asia via major U.S. gateways including Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle-Tacoma (SEA), and Chicago O’Hare (ORD).

  • Knoxville to Denver – Seasonal weekend nonstop flights between Knoxville, Tennessee, and Denver International Airport (DEN) will begin April 9, 2026.

Flights are now available for booking at Southwest.com, with international services subject to government approvals. Travelers can also access itineraries combining Southwest and EVA Air flights through EVA’s booking channels and third-party travel sites.
