Life360 Introduces “No-Show Alerts” to Ease Stress

Location-sharing platform Life360 has announced the launch of a new safety feature designed to give families added peace of mind. The app now offers “No-Show Alerts,” a notification that lets users know when a family member or friend does not arrive at a designated location by a specific time.

The feature, introduced Wednesday, aims to reduce the need for parents and caregivers to constantly check real-time location updates or check in with phone calls or texts. Instead, the app provides a single notification if someone fails to arrive as expected.

Back-to-School Timing

Life360 is rolling out “no-show alerts” during the back-to-school season to help parents track whether their children make it to school safely and on time. However, the company emphasized that the feature can be used by any member of a Life360 circle, provided that location sharing is enabled.

How It Works

To set up a No-Show Alert, users can:

  • Open the circle of the person they want to monitor

  • Tap on the person’s profile

  • Select “Set a No Show Alert”

  • Choose a place and time to receive a one-time notification if the individual doesn’t arrive

Users can also make the alerts recurring by selecting the “Repeat” option and choosing specific days of the week. Life360 built in a short grace period after the scheduled time before triggering the notification, allowing for minor delays.

The company added that members retain control over their privacy—location sharing can be disabled at any time.

Availability

The No-Show Alert feature became available in the United States this week and will expand to international members in the coming weeks.

Life360, widely used by families for safety and coordination, continues to expand its tools aimed at balancing convenience, communication, and peace of mind.
