OpenAI appears to be quietly testing a new feature in ChatGPT called “Study Together,” according to reports from some subscribers who’ve noticed it in their available tools dropdown. Though not officially announced, the feature seems to be geared toward enhancing ChatGPT’s role as an educational companion.

Unlike traditional prompt-and-response interactions, “Study Together” reportedly shifts the dynamic by prompting users with questions instead of providing direct answers. Early speculation suggests this interactive mode may be OpenAI’s answer to Google’s LearnLM, encouraging deeper learning and critical thinking.
